I started my undergrad college career wanting to be a computer engineer but by the time I graduated, I had a Business Psychology degree and became a lead singer in a girl group developed under Busta Rhymes' very new Flip Mode Entertainment.
This experimental six-girl group, complete with singers and rappers, was named True*2*Life and lasted for three years but, that was enough for Danny to discover her love and talent for songwriting and arranging.
Since then, she's written and performed her original songs in local nightclubs, fashion and talent shows, done background vocal work for Rampage the Last Boyscout and provided lyrics for R&B singer Coko of SWV to perform on RCA Rap artist, Pia Khan's record single. In 2001, Danny collaborated with J-records artist, Jimmy Cozier and has various independent production company credits.
"I grew up on Mariah Carey, Jodeci, Mary J. Blige, Prince and EnVogue and you can hear their influence in my arrangements." Danny has completed recording and mastering her debut compilation CD, The Light, and is currently distributing the soul-opening collection of original songs for music fans and enticing music supervisors with the licensing of sought after songs through her company, Aadria Music Publishing, Inc. Songs such as the danceable, up-tempo, Free' and the hopeful, urban mid-tempo, Good Things Come to Those Who Wait.' to name a couple, are noteable joints found on the album.
Danny has also taken part in an off-off Broadway play where her ability to hear arrangements and perform them caused her cast members to affectionately name her MD' for the unofficial Music Director of the play. But while Danny believes in many forms of show', she also takes the 'business' side of the industry very seriously and has recently earned her MBA in Media Management. Danny has learned a lot about the music business and just needs the right opportunity to display her genuine talent, not only as a writer and performer but, as a business woman who can move major units, says Eclipse, a Hip-Hop Producer of independent label, GMG Records.
Danny's got something to prove, so hopefully when deals are on the table, the outcome can be less unpredictable.
